About the Kenwood House- a Villa in the Heath Walk in London
Set in the tranquil ground of Hampstead Heath, Kenwood house is one of the hidden treasures of London. The 18th century villa, remodelled by Robert Adam for Lord Mansfield, is today a small but rich museum, including works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough.
Brewing magnate Edward Cecil Guinness, bought Kenwood House and gardens in 1925. When he died in 1927, he left the house, estate and part of his collection of pictures to the nation.
We will start our visit with Kenwood House, a beautiful 17th cent residence hosting works by Vermeer and Rembrant. After the visit to the the house, we would continue the walk in the Heath, a site loved by artists such as Keats, Shelley, and Constable.
The Heath is an 825 acre green space, exhilarating even in rainy days. The second half of the day is spent in Hampstead Village, right next to the Heath. The village is a picturesque and historic site, with narrow roads and lesser known museums, this part of London is a magnifi
