Before arriving, we will send you an informative document, which will assist in acquainting yourselves with the city and will provide some key logistical information. Our team of docents, all Neapolitan natives, have offered up their favorite picks for lodging and dining in the Chiaia area of the city, which we find to be the best starting point for first time visitors, in terms of both services and ambience.
Upon arrival in the city (be it airport or train station), you will be met by one of our docents who will assist you in reaching your hotel and checking in. After dropping off your bags, we will sit down with you to go over your itinerary and answer any logistical questions you may have about using your time wisely. Armed with a detailed map and the document you previously received, we will go over any questions about getting around town, the best way to get from museum to museum and the best places to eat along the way. Two dining reservations are included in this service, so now is the time to pick the docent's brain for additional restaurant recommendations. If you are considering day trips or side trips from Naples (like Capri, Ischia or the Amalfi Coast), the docent will help you figure out the easiest and quickest way of getting where you need to go.
After this sit-down chat, we will head out into the city, in order to acclimate you to your surroundings. We will start off with the area immediately surrounding your hotel and then go further afar, perhaps heading in the direction of the historic waterfront port area or into the characteristic alleys of the Spaccanapoli district. Along the way, your docent will provide you with a synopsis of Naples' history and culture, which will better inform your further explorations during your stay.
To further round out your Neapolitan experience, booking this service entitles you to a 15% discount on any private walk of your choice. To consult our full list of our walks in Naples, please click on the “Browse All Walks” tab above.
