Paris Museum Tickets

First constructed in 1190 by Philippe Auguste as a royal safehouse, the Louvre has since been used as a fortress and royal palace before being converted in 1793 to one of today's richest and most well-known museums. Collections are divided into 7 main sections, among them Egyptian art and artifacts, Renaissance Italian painting, and the Northern masters of the 17th century.

The Louvre is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, until 9:30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. It is closed on Tuesdays, as well as January 1, May 1, May 8, and December 25.
