The building that now houses one of the world's most impressive collections of 19th century art was originally constructed as a train station by architect Victor Laloux. Inaugurated for the July 1900 World's Fair, the Gare D'Orsay functioned for nearly 40 years as one of the capital's major transportation hubs. It wasn't until 1986 that the former Gare was transformed into it's current state, bringing together the 19th century collections of the Louvre, Impressionist works from the Musee Jeu de Paume, and the National Museum of Modern Art. Today, the D'Orsay is a feast of Realism, Pre- and Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Pointillism, early photography, and sculpture.

Ordering advance tickets to the D'Orsay allows you to skip the often crushing crowds of visitors lined up to get a glimpse of original Van Goghs and Monets. Please use the form to the side to request your tickets. We will deliver your tickets to your hotel before your arrival, you should enter your arrival date to Paris. Orsay tickets are valid for any day, meaning that you can visit the museum whenever you'd like.

The D'Orsay is open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, until 9:30 pm on Thursdays. It is closed every Monday, as well as January 1, May 1, and December 25.
