The city of Rome created quite a good pass that can really help travelers save money on both museums and public transport. Just what does the Roma Pass get you? To start it comes with a 3 day transportation pass, good for both bus and metro. If bought separately, this type of pass will set you back 11 euro.
The pass really begins to pay off when visiting museums and monuments in the city. The first two sites visited with the pass are free of charge and from the third onwards holders will be charged a reduced entrance price. Almost every site you’d want to visit participates in the scheme, from the Colosseum to the Galleria Borghese. Buyers should beware that the Vatican Museums will not accept the Roma Pass, as the museum is not one of the participating venues. The pass is valid for 3 days from its first use, so if planned correctly can be a real bargain.
