Your day begins at 8:00am at Livorno cruise port, where you’ll be met by your private chauffeur and embark on the 2-hour drive to Florence, depending on the traffic. On your arrival in Florence at about 10:00am, you’ll meet your expert guide and begin to get acquainted with the incredible cultural offerings of this city. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Florence practically overflows with artworks of immense importance. Your first stop will be the Uffizi Gallery, where you’ll find such treasures as Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and da Vinci’s Annunciation. You’ll spend about two hours in the Uffizi viewing these and other highlights with your expert, who will enlighten you as to the history of the collection and the Medici family’s role in the Renaissance.

Leaving the Uffizi, you’ll stop for a quick lunch (at your own expense) and take a short walk through central Florence towards the Museo Accademia to get there for your allotted entry time. You’ll pass by such landmarks as the Florence Duomo on your way, and your expert guide will pause briefly to highlight some of its architectural features and introduce you to its history. Arriving at the Accademia, your focus will be on Michaelangelo’s David. Your expert will help you place Michaelagelo in the wider context of the Renaissance and introduce the various interpretations of this iconic statue.

After 6 hours together, your time with your expert will draw to a close. Your driver will transport you back to Livorno, getting you to the port for 6:00pm. You’ll drift off towards your next destination having gained a newfound appreciation for the art of the Italian Renaissance and the city that fostered such creativity.
What time will we be picked up from the port?
You will be picked up by your private driver at 8:00am. You will then be driven into Florence to meet your guide for your tour at 10:00am.

Where will we meet the guide?
You will meet the guide in Florence near the Uffizi Gallery.

How long will we have the car service for?
If you book the tour with transfers only, you will have the car for transfers only: for the 2-hour journey from Livorno to Florence at the beginning of your tour and the 2-hour return journey at the end of your tour. If you book the full-day car service, you will have the car service for 10 hours - this includes both transfers and the 6-hour tour time.

If we book the car for the full day will we be able to use it during the tour?
The two venues on this tour are only approximately 15 minutes walk from each other, and Florence isn't a city designed for cars. We don't necessarily recommend booking the full-tour car service as it’s likely that the car will not be of use during the tour, besides as somewhere to leave some of your things.

How long will we have with the guide?
You will spend 6 hours with the guide. The driver will meet you at the port and drive you to meet the guide in Florence. Your time with the guide will end in Florence and then the driver will return you to the port. You will be away from the port from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Can we enter the Duomo on this tour?
Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time on this tour to go inside the Duomo but we will see and discuss it from the outside.

Can we change the itinerary for this tour?
No, this tour is not customizable.

Do we buy children's passes?
We only buy adult tickets for our Uffizi tours because people with reduced tickets have to wait in an extra line and show their ID. In order to save time, we purchase skip-the-line standard tickets so families may enter as quickly as possible.

Will you pre-purchase tickets? Will they allow us to skip the line?
Yes, we pre-purchase timed tickets to the Uffizi and Accademia, so you will not have to queue to purchase tickets. Your expert will have them on hand, and we will enter the museum together as a group. However, please keep in mind that we will still be required to wait in the security line. Both museums can be extremely crowded, and at times, this line may take up to 20 minutes. Regardless, our guide will spend this time wisely by providing an overview of the history of the collection.

Can we do this shore excursion from La Spezia port?
Unfortunately not - this tour is only set up to run from Livorno.

Will I see everything in the Uffizi collection?
No, it is not possible to cover the entire collection during your visit to the Uffizi on this tour due to the vast amount of works on display. Please note also that due to circumstances beyond our control, certain rooms or works may be closed to visitors without advanced notice.

There are 8 in my group but your website won't allow me to include more than 7 participants. Can't you make an exception?
No, unfortunately, due to vehicle size restrictions, we cannot accommodate groups larger than 7 people.

The tour from start to finish was exemplary, from the time we were picked up at our ship to the time we were dropped off. Both our driver, Souro and guide, Alessandra were exceptional. Alessandra was wonderful during the tour and delivered the historical information of Florence in a manner that we could clearly understand. What a wonderful experience for our first time in Florence and Italy.
