Our group of girlfriends booked the London by Night tour with Context Travel, and it ended up being a really enjoyable way to explore the city and see a few things we wouldn't have otherwise. Our guide, Professor Tim Hochstrasser, was exactly what I would picture an English professor to be! He brought a thoughtful and knowledgeable perspective to the evening with his background in history and academia and he was wonderful to talk to. We walked through some of London’s most iconic areas—Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden near the opera house, Chinatown, and the peaceful reflection pond by St. Paul’s Cathedral. Tim also pointed out a few restaurant recommendations along the way, which was a nice bonus. The pace was relaxed, and Tim encouraged questions and conversation, which made it feel more like a guided evening stroll with an expert than a traditional tour. We ended the tour at a local pub where he stayed for a drink and some casual conversation with the group. If you’re looking for a cultural walking tour that blends interesting history, architecture, and a little local flavor—without being too formal—this is a great option.
Fred was an excellent guide! We learned so much and really enjoyed the pubs!
Doris did an exceptional job! She told us the history and walked us through very special places in London that we surely would have missed!
