Tour Description
What better way is there to experience a bit of French local life than spending the morning at the market? Often overlooked by tourists and much coveted by locals, Marché d’Aligre boasts an array of items from flowers to fruits, produce to pastries, with just about everything in between.
During this Paris market tour, you will hop from stand to stand in the company of your local host. They will introduce you to shopkeepers, give you the history behind various French delicacies, and show you how to order some of the best specialties around. You might taste some treats along the way while stocking up on others in preparation for a small end-of-tour picnic. Should you choose, you can wash it all down with a glass of French wine.
You’ll leave this food tour with both a newfound knowledge of local eating habits, as well as a belly full of tasty treats. But more importantly, you will have spent the morning living a truly French experience, as the local market traditions are alive and well in this part of the world.

We had the most wonderful time on this food tour with Lisa. She guided us through a wonderful variety of tastings — pastries, olives, cheeses and chocolate — each one giving us a real sense of the flavours and food culture of Paris.
What made it so special was how relaxed and enjoyable the whole morning felt. We wandered through the market at a lovely pace, with Lisa sharing her knowledge and warmth throughout. She's genuinely great fun to spend time with.
The morning finished on a high at a wonderful wine store, where Lisa's friend Luke made us feel right at home. A perfect ending to a perfect tour.
If you're looking for an authentic and joyful introduction to Parisian food, we couldn't recommend Lisa more highly. A truly memorable experience!
