Pamela M. did not disappoint. We were late and she waited for us as well as extended our tour which she did not have to do. She was fantastic in every way, from her lovely personality to the depth of her knowledge.
Everything worked. This tour could not be improved, it was wonderful the way Pamela M. conducted it. She's a true professional with a totally delightful personality. She kept us engaged and informed every step of the way. That is not easy to do, especially with the graciousness she exhibited. Would highly recommend her and take another tour with her when back in Provence.
We thought Billy G. was terrific – in fact we were kicking ourselves that we’d made the decision to go to Marseille for the day from Aix-en-Provence too late to book him for the tour he also does there on architectural modernism. His English was excellent, he was warm and personable as well as formidably well informed and he was good at intuiting the particular interests of the different members of the group – the 4 of us are very well travelled, in our 60s/70s, 2 live in Europe and 2 in Australia. We were joined by a young gay couple from Washington DC who haven’t travelled much, so bit of a mixed group, Billy handled it very well. The only comment I would make is that it was very hot and he didn’t program in a stop for a short rest and drink – of course, we should have requested this. A further point is that it’s nice to have a guide born and bred in the area – we seem to have a talent for walking tour guides, whether from Context or other companies, who are from somewhere completely different. That also brings an interesting outsider’s perspective but Billy was able to give us his personal reflections on how the city and the area have changed since he was a boy.
