Mayumi is an expert in Japanese art history with M.A. from Waseda University. She has lived in Tokyo for more than 30 years and knows about the city through museums. She lived in the USA as a teenager for two years, then decided to study about Japan to deepen her view as a Japanese. Her speciality is art, related to Zen Buddhism. She has been teaching Japanese art history in English since 2019. She loves paintings and is passionate about explaining about Japan through history, aesthetic, religion and appreciation of each piece. She also enjoys learning from her students and clients.
