Bassano del Grappa Cultural Excursion

Located a short train ride from Venice, Bassano del Grappa provides an enchanting doorway into the life and culture of the Veneto. Wine tastings and visits to local artisans will give a feel and flavor to the local life that thrives in this small haven. With its magnificent wooden bridge designed by Palladio and its reputation as leading producer of the Italian liquor grappa, the town provides an interesting stopping point for culture mavens and art lovers.

Our day, designed by Bassano resident Carla Cassano, is highly flexible and can be tailored to meet the interests of the group. We often include morning visits to artisans or a local art restoration studio before stopping at two local enotecas to learn about wine of the Veneto region. Lunch will be comprised of the light appetizers we nibble on during these tastings. To cap off the day we then engage in a private grappa tasting at the Nardini factory. Afterwards you may take the train back to your original destination or, better yet, stay in town for an evening spritz, the before dinner drink of choice in the Veneto.
