See the world in Context Personal tours for the intentional traveler

For the curious

Some people are deeply curious about the world. They’re interested in how it works. How history and architecture and food and fashion and art and everything sensuous, exciting and intelligent is connected. How their own way is never the only way.

So when these interested people travel, they travel deeply.

Our Context experts add to this experience. Academic insights alongside untold stories. Beautiful nuance and local subtlety. Genuine world wisdom.

Over twenty years of conversations

Conversations, not scripts

“Our morning with Rafael was the quintessential Context experience - and why we keep coming back. We saw a part of Tokyo we would never have experienced on our own, but more importantly we left with a deeper understanding of Tokyo, why it’s developed the way it has, and how its citizens actually live their lives. So much more valuable (and interesting) than simply seeing the sights.”

Experts, not guides

“William literally writes the book(s) on the D-Day memorials which led to an incredibly informative day tour. From age 77 to 11, we were all captivated by his knowledge and his ability to connect the dots.”

Tailored, not one-size fits all

“Fantastic way to learn or refresh your understanding of key aspects of the history of Britain... One of the great things about a Context private tour is your guide. You can tailor your experience to your group's individual interests. This was our third Context tour. We are 3 for 3 in terms of top shelf guides, each very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommended!"

dimo was exceptional. i would say my best context guide ever. he was not only very knowledgeable--was equipped with both archeological, historical, and art knowledge--but also great manners.
Alex gave us a wonderful tour of the museum. He knew where to go and what to see. He gave us great information and descriptions of the exhibits. He interacted well with the whole family and kept everyone involved. Great guide.
Elena did an excellent job. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We loved the Venice tour and will continue to use context for future travel.
