Christophe Thouny earned a PhD in Modern Japanese urban culture at New York University in 2011. His work focuses in particular on Tokyo and its representation in movies, literature, guidebooks and maps. Christophe grew up in France and Canada, before moving to Tokyo and then New York. He recently came back to Japan to pursue his research and teaching. Having lived several years in the Japanese capital, he enjoys sharing his knowledge of a city in constant transformation. Interested as well in photography, he is used to lengthy walks always rewarding for the trained eye.
