Clara is a French­-American pianist, composer and singer. Born in Paris and raised in Los Angeles, Clara was immersed in many musical genres thanks, in part to her father, world­-renowned jazz violinist and composer Jean-Luc Ponty. Clara trained in classical piano at the Interlochen Arts Academy, the Maryland Conservatory, U.C.L.A and the University of Southern California. After receiving her degree in music, she then moved to New York City and put aside competitive performing to focus on composing. Her career was launched in 1997 with her debut recording for Universal Records. She has since released four other albums and has toured in festivals and theaters worldwide. In 2001, Clara moved back to Europe. After 2 years in London, she has been living in Paris and has been an active member of the french music scene. Other than music, Clara cultivates her other passions for visual arts, and has created artist circles, in particular in the painting and theater world. When not performing, Clara maintains a busy schedule writing music and teaching music, jazz music history, and Montmartre history.
