Born and raised in Umbria, “the green heart of Italy”, Maura has a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from the Università degli Studi di Perugia and a post-graduate specialisation from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. After working as an Italian Professor for foreigners, she became a Licensed Historic Expert Guide in Umbria. Her main interests are Roman, Medieval and Renaissance art history, Umbrian culture and traditions and the inspiring spirituality of a special land where many Saints, like Saint Francis of Assisi, spent their life, prayed and died. She is very passionate about sharing with her guests the beauty of the most charming ancient hilltowns where to fall in love with the greatest artistic masterpieces and where to relax in the unspoiled, intimate nature of the countryside all around. She also fully developed her great passion of local food, Umbrian traditions and… fine wines! She speaks Italian, English and French.
