About Michael
Michael Karabinos is an archival theorist living in Amsterdam, the
Netherlands. He has a PhD from Leiden University and was previously
the Map Librarian at the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC
(US). His work on colonial archives in Southeast Asia has appeared in
various academic journals. He is co-editor of the book Colonial Legacy
in South East Asia: the Dutch Archives. While Amsterdam's colonial
history is his main specialty, he also has interests in the city's
urban expansion over the past 400 years and its architectural history.
