Richard arrived in Berlin having previously lived in Manchester, London, Massachusetts, and Lisbon. He is a writer and academic whose interests include architecture, cinema, literature, history, and politics. After receiving degrees from the University of Manchester and University College London, Richard spent two years working for the UK government’s architecture and urban design advisory body. He then completed his PhD in humanities and cultural studies at the London Consortium. He has taught literature, film, and critical theory at Birkbeck (University of London) and Middlesex University, as well as creating a series of events and courses at the Tate Modern gallery. He is currently writing a book on architecture and cinema.
