Rosa is a Korean Australian pursuing a PhD at the University of Tokyo. Into her 5th year in Tokyo, she is traveling between Hokkaido and Osaka to discover how marginalized histories are remembered through popular culture of all variations ranging from local festivals to video games. In addition to eating Japanese food, Rosa also likes to learn the context in which it is produced and consumed as well. Her curiosity has taken her from experimenting with Japanese cooking, including making her own miso from scratch, to riding the powered trolleys with a Tsukiji trader around the fish market. She'll explore all aspects of the food scene, from local street snacks to high end restaurants.
