Sophia holds master's degrees in art history, Italian and music performance, and she is presently a doctoral candidate in art history at Columbia University, specializing in Italian Renaissance painting; she also maintains an active interest in Renaissance architecture. She spent a semester in Venice during her undergraduate studies, and a year in Florence while pursuing her MA in Italian. Over the past decade she has traveled widely and conducted research throughout Italy; she has also coordinated and taught art history for a variety of study abroad programs. She has once again been based in Italy full-time since 2013, and divides her time between Florence and Venice.
