Taku is originally from Zimbabwe and has been in South Africa since 2005. He has an academic background in environmental sciences and sociology and is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in Energy, Poverty and Development at the University of Cape Town. As Taku is passionate about history, cultures, sustainable development and poverty alleviation, he has acquired experience in several areas including agriculture, conservation, energy, environmental management, climate change, and disaster management. He has also worked with a few companies that work with international exchange students and volunteers; and enjoys interacting with people from different cultures and nationalities.
