Yoji Kitamura

Local Guide in Kyoto, Osaka, and Kanazawa
About Yoji

Hello, I’m Yoji, a local guide based in Kanazawa.

I grew up in Kanazawa and later earned my master’s degree in business in the United States. Over the years I’ve lived in several places around the world—including Washington D.C., San diego, Seattle, as well as China and parts of Southeast Asia. Those experiences shaped the way I see travel: not just as sightseeing, but as a way to truly connect with people, culture, and everyday life.

Because I’ve spent more than 10 years abroad, I understand what international travelers are curious about when visiting Japan. My goal is to make your visit feel authentic, relaxed, and memorable—more like exploring with a knowledgeable local friend than following a typical tour.

Kanazawa is one of Japan’s best-preserved historic cities, known for samurai districts, geisha culture, beautiful gardens, and incredible food. I love sharing these stories while also introducing guests to the flavors of Japan. I’m deeply involved in Japanese products such as matcha and sake, so if you’re interested in Japanese food culture, tea, or local specialties, I’d be happy to share those experiences as well.

I offer personalized tours in Kanazawa as well as day trips to Shirakawa-go and Takayama. Whether you're interested in history, food, culture, or hidden local spots, I’ll tailor the day to match your interests.

Let’s explore Japan together and create an experience you’ll remember long after your trip ends.
