Japanese Culture Expert in Kanazawa
About Yoji

Yoji is a local guide based in Kanazawa.

Yoji grew up in Kanazawa and later earned his master’s degree in business in the United States. Over the years he has lived in several places around the world—including Washington D.C., San Diego, Seattle, as well as China and parts of Southeast Asia. Those experiences shaped the way he sees travel: not just as sightseeing, but as a way to truly connect with people, culture, and everyday life.

Because Yoji has spent more than 10 years abroad, he understands what international travelers are curious about when visiting Japan. His goal is to make your visit feel authentic, relaxed, and memorable—more like exploring with a knowledgeable local friend than following a typical tour.

Kanazawa is one of Japan’s best-preserved historic cities, known for samurai districts, geisha culture, beautiful gardens, and incredible food. Yoji loves sharing these stories while also introducing guests to the flavors of Japan. He's deeply involved in Japanese products such as matcha and sake, so if you’re interested in Japanese food culture, tea, or local specialties, Yoji would be happy to share those experiences as well.

Yoji offers personalized tours in Kanazawa as well as day trips to Shirakawa-go and Takayama. Whether you're interested in history, food, culture, or hidden local spots, he will tailor the day to match your interests to create an experience you’ll remember long after your trip ends.
