About the Cutting-edge Architecture and Contemporary Rome Walk in Rome

When we think of Rome our mind travels immediately back to the Roman Empire and the Renaissance, yet Rome is also alive and living right now. This walk will take us to explore the Flaminio neighborhood: an area of stunning new architecture and ever changing cityscape where we'll learn about exciting challenges in Rome's urban development. Busy traffic routes and towering housing blocks are features common to every world capital, as is the cry for new green areas, cycle routes and the need for open breathing aggregation spaces.

Using public transport we will approach the Auditorium by architect Renzo Piano, Rome's music hall hosting internationally acclaimed concerts and music events. At a short distance, in the area of the former Montello military barracks, is star architect Zaha Hadid's MAXXI, completed in 2010.
