About the Italian Language Workshop Walk in Rome

This one-and-a-half-hour Italian Language Workshop is usually led by Andrea Viviani, a Ph.d. linguistics from Roma Tre University in Rome. Andrea's dissertation deals with the historical and linguistic relationship between English (which he speaks superbly) and Italian.

This workshop can be tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of language learners. Beginners may want to come away armed with some key phrases to help them navigate the city. Or, if you have a greater facility and background in the language you may want to request a detailed lesson on some of the finer points of Italian—tenses, specialized vocabulary, or an intense conversational experience. Others may want to temper this lesson approach with a broader discussion of how the Italian language functions and how by understanding this we can learn more about Italian culture as a whole, a topic that Andrea, as a linguist, can handle with great aplomb.
