Manoli was a true gem. As a local to Florence, he knew the true culture and history behind the city. We got some of the best recommendations for food in the city. 10/10 highly recommend!
Molly was an exceptional tour guide. She engaged our group and made Galileo come to life for our youth. She found out the interests of our youth and added those personal touches by telling us relatable stories from Galileo's life. She added in a little stop to show us an old map of Florence (Tracce de Firenze) hanging on a wall within the Palazzo Vecchio. She made Florence come to life as she showed us other places we should go with local tips on gelato, places to eat, and other Florence history. She was highly knowledgeable and helped us more deeply understand the rich history of Florence.
Helen is an extraordinary guide. At the Ufizzi, despite the extraordinary crowds, she was able to direct us to the right viewing of each painting or sculpture. She then explained the significance of Christian art, which had been a previously a inpenetrable subject for us. This enabled us to appreciate the development of Art in Florence prior to and then during the Renaissance period. She was able to convey an extraordinary amount of knowledge and information in a very cogent and affable way. This skill made our experience a delight. She taught us about the evolution of the Madonna and child subject over time as well as the cultural changes. She interwove details of Florentine history, the character and qualities of the artists, and the Medici rule. A rich picture of 1400-1500 Florence emerged. Helen has a charming personality and wit. We highly recommend her.
