Kumi was born and raised in Tokyo. She majored in tourism at university and has always been interested in tourism. After she got married, she also lived in Nagano Prefecture, which is famous for monkeys bathing in hot springs, and Yamanashi Prefecture, which is located at the foot of Mt. Fuji. She experienced firsthand the best of both the big city and the countryside. Since 2015 she has been working as a nationally certified tour guide around Tokyo.
