Having qualified as a Green Badge Guide, Shirlie has been guiding in Cambridge for over 12 years and is also a Fitzwilliam Museum Guide. For most of her life she lived overseas before returning from Hong Kong, where she lived and worked for many years, to settle with her family in Cambridge. She fell in love with the city for its long and interesting history, architecture, stimulating academic environment and cosmopolitan nature. She is passionate about the city she lives in and enjoys sharing it with visitors, who she wants to experience the very best it has to offer during their visit.
