Tour Description
Florence has long defined itself through its food. On this two and a half hour walking tour, you will join a local chef or food writer to explore the flavors and traditions that shaped Tuscan cuisine. Instead of a sit-down meal, the tour moves through the city streets, markets, and artisanal shops to reveal the foods Florentines love and the stories behind them. Along the way, you will sample regional specialties, including truffle sandwiches, salami, focaccia, pastries, and gelato when in season.

The journey begins in the historic center, where centuries-old bakeries, markets, and cafes offer a window into Florence's culinary life. Your guide will highlight the citys iconic flavors while discussing the origins of local products, from the hills that produce wild truffles to the fertile fields that yield grapes for world-renowned wines. Wonderful food tour, one of the best we've experienced in Italy!
Antonio was a fabulous guide. We would recommend him and Context Travel to anyone wanting to get a deeper view of Florence from a local. Even though we had been to Florence before, we loved experiencing new things - especially the olive oil tasting and wine tasting in a gorgeous historic building. Antonio was so knowledgeable about the history of the city and how food played a role. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Thank you , Patrizia ! We had a perfectly wonderful morning with you. Enjoyed learning about and trying some of Florence’s delicious foods and wine. Felt like we spent the morning with an old friend Thanks for sharing your home with us!
