Both Naples tour today with Roberta and Herculaneum/Pompeii tour earlier this week with Riccardo were excellent. Both guides were experts.

Itinerary Description
Next, you’ll make your way towards Pio Monte della Misericordia, a striking example of 17th-century architecture and home to Caravaggio’s The Seven Works of Mercy. A work that encapsulates Neapolitan humanity by an artist who fled Rome for Naples after murdering a man during a duel, this painting will give you a deeper look into some of the essential characteristics of Naples, as your guide will explain.
You’ll stop for a lunch break next in a local trattoria or pizzeria (at your expense), before continuing on a walking tour of the city itself. Taking in the Spanish Quarter, Piazza del Plebiscito, and two of Naples’ castles, Castel Nuovo and Castel dell’Ovo, you’ll dive into Naples’ history and daily life, possibly with the chance to grab a gelato or other tasty treat along the way. Your expert guide will enlighten you as to the political and social character of the city, providing insights into the reality of living in Naples compared to its various reputations. Finishing up at Castel dell’Ovo on the bay, you’ll part ways with your expert guide, having gained a deeper understanding of the unique character of Naples and how it came to be.
FAQs
Yes, this will be possible - there will be a few different options for lunch, including a local pizzeria or a traditional trattoria.
Will there be any additional costs on the tour?
You will be responsible for the cost of lunch and tickets to Santa Chiara and Pio Monte della Misericordia on the day of the tour. Please make sure to have some local currency or a credit card to hand to pay for these.
Yes, car services can be arranged if needed. Please indicate your preference at the time of booking.
Unfortunately, the largest vehicle that our car provider has will seat a maximum of 7 clients plus the guide.
This tour is not part of our family portfolio; however, we do have some family-friendly guides who lead the tour and could adjust the content and delivery for younger travelers. Please bear in mind, though, that this is a long and walking-intensive day, so it may not be suitable for all children.
Unfortunately, we don’t necessarily recommend this tour for people with mobility issues - the venues that are visited generally have only limited accessibility for wheelchairs. This is a full-day tour and covers a lot of ground - around 4-5 miles usually. We offer this tour with a private car service if clients wish.
Does this tour overlap with any of your other tours?
Yes, we have combined elements of our Ancient Naples: Above and Underground and La Vita Napoletana tours to make this full-day experience. We have also included some sites that are visited on our Caravaggio and the Baroque in Naples tour. Tours that would pair very well with this one include our Archaeological Museum tour or our excursions to Pompeii for either a half- or full day!

Fantastic full day tour of Naples with Riccardo. From the start with a visit to a mountaintop monastery museum to a walk through the center city Riccardo provided insights and context for everything we saw. More than simply knowledgeable (which he was) Riccardo made it feel we were touring the city with a good friend who lives there. It was a fantastic experience.
Omg . Francesca was awesome. A true Napolitano treasure. She was an expert on Naples and expressed a knowledge and true love of her city. Can't say a enough positive p about my experience.
