Tour Description
Just north of Verona, the hills of Valpolicella tell their story through food and wine. In the company of a professional sommelier, step inside a private winery for an in-depth tasting immersed in the quiet hills, open skies, and the slow rhythm of the countryside. Curious how Amarone became one of Italy’s most talked about reds?

Wine tastes different when you stand among the vines that shaped it. Just beyond Verona, the hills of Valpolicella unfold in soft lines of green, punctuated by olive groves, stone farmhouses, and distant villas that speak of centuries past. Travel by private car through this calm landscape, watching the city fade into open sky and terraced vineyards.

At the winery, step onto the property as welcomed guests, expected and prepared for. A professional sommelier leads a private visit through cellar and production spaces, translating technique into story, and story into flavor. Vines have grown here since Roman times. How did this valley become synonymous with some of Italy’s most distinctive DOCG wines?

In a private tasting room reserved just for your group, attention sharpens. Without the distractions of a crowded bar, focus on Valpolicella Classico, Superiore, Ripasso, and the sweet silkiness of Recioto. Learn how alcohol levels climb to 14 to 17 percent in Amarone, why Ripasso is called a re-passing of the grapes, and how each style reflects a different intention.

As the tasting unfolds, patterns begin to emerge. Roman cultivation, Venetian villas, careful drying techniques, and modern craftsmanship all connect in the glass. What seems at first like a simple pour becomes a map of the valley itself. Return to Verona with more than bottles in mind. Carry a clearer sense of what to order at dinner, what to look for in a wine shop, and how to read beyond the label with confidence. Valpolicella no longer feels distant. It feels understood.

If there are any accessibility concerns that your tour guide will need to be aware of, please let our team know at the time of booking.

Wheelchair accessibility
Both the park and the villa are generally accessible for guests with limited mobility and wheelchair users. Please note that access to the bottaia (barrel room) requires descending a flight of steps. Guests with mobility limitations or wheelchair users may prefer to skip this portion of the visit. The rest of the venue, including the wine shop, is fully accessible.

Can I take this tour if I have dietary restrictions? However, nut allergies and lactose intolerance can be accommodated with advance notice. Please let us know at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Can we bring our kids?
This tour is not family-friendly or easily adjustable for children, as it is wine-focused and includes tastings throughout the experience.

Can we join if we’re not wine connoisseurs?
Absolutely! The tour is suitable for all knowledge levels, whether you’re passionate about wine or simply enjoy drinking it. Please note that, as this is a wine-centered experience, it may not be ideal for non-alcohol drinkers, since non-alcoholic options can be limited.

We have a rental car. Can we drive ourselves?
We strongly recommend using the private car service included in the tour. For insurance and safety reasons, our guides cannot travel in clients’ personal vehicles.

Can we use trains or local transport instead of the car service?
Unfortunately, no. The locations we visit are in remote areas that are not easily accessible by public transportation.

Can we take the tour at a different time than the one listed?
We generally don’t recommend changing the timing, as the experience is designed to take place around lunchtime. In some cases, we may be able to request an exception with the winery, but it must be approved in advance. Please leave us a note at checkout and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
