Local Guide in Verona
About Manuela

Manuela holds an MA in Oriental Languages, with a specialization in Japanese, earned at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as well as a postgraduate degree in Special Education for people with sensory and multiple disabilities from the University of Verona. This unique academic background allows her to combine linguistic, cultural, and educational expertise in her professional work.
Born in Verona, Manuela has been working as a tourist guide for over 27 years. Throughout her career, she has continuously deepened her knowledge of the historical, artistic, and cultural heritage of the Verona area, while also expanding her linguistic skills. She has long been committed to promoting accessible, responsible, and sustainable tourism. Through specialized training in Italian Sign Language, disability, and accessibility, and through close collaboration with people with special needs and local associations, she has developed inclusive and carefully designed tours for both physically impaired and neurodivergent individuals.
Alongside her guiding activity, Manuela has taught Japanese and English in private courses for adults and has collaborated with Juliet’s Club, a non-profit association based in Verona. In this role, she contributed to translating and replying to letters addressed to Giulietta Capuleti in Japanese, English, and Finnish, helping to connect Verona’s cultural heritage with an international audience.
Today, Manuela designs and leads thematic tours throughout Verona and its province, offering engaging experiences focused on history, food, cultural heritage, and the arts, with particular attention to accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful storytelling.
