This virtual tour of the cathedral will include many images to better understand and put in context Gaudi's background and career, the history of the construction, and the main parts of the church. Gaudí knew that it would take generations after him to complete it, which would leave their imprint: “I don’t want them to copy me”. You’ll see how a person of humble origins became an architect and a visionary “Renaissance” man: he was also a landscaper, interior designer, and structural engineer. During this virtual tour, you’ll understand why Gaudí is called the “God’s architect”, the incredible innovations that he developed a century ago, and why he was the first “organic” architect (“My master is the tree in front of my workshop”). His legacy is still admired by contemporary architects.
Led by the expert local guide and cultural communicator, Guille Genestar, this lecture will fill participants with the emotion of this magnificent and unique architectural wonder.
