Rome Private Tours and Rome Small Group Tours

We offer a wide range of Rome guided tours, including visits to museums, archaeological sites, and food tours—all led by local scholars and specialists. In addition to the main attractions like the Colosseum and the Vatican, our Rome private guides can also show you the sites less traveled. One of our most popular Rome private tours is our Ostia Antica tour, an excursion to the ancient port of Rome buried by centuries of mud, one of the nation's most compelling archaeological sites. Traveling to Rome with kids? Try our Ancient Rome for Kids Tour and our Vatican for Kids Tour, both of which use interactive activities, scavenger hunts, and games and feature private guides trained in inquiry-based learning to make Rome come alive. Also popular is our Underground Rome Tour, in which we dig under the surface (literally and figuratively) with an archaeologist or speleologist to explore sewers, crypts, and buried temples—featured in National Geographic and on the History Channel.

Simonetta was very knowledgeable.
Annalivia was not at all engaging with the kids and she mostly left out my youngest (7 year old) and focused on my two older kids. Even so, this was supposed to be an “interactive tour for kids” with hands-on activities and the most “interactive” it became was Annalivia asking the kids questions and showing them pages from a kids book on the Coliseum. There was nothing hands-on that the kids participated in. There was no notepad or pen for them to take notes with like we’ve had with other private kids tours this trip. There was no activity at all, and not even a little treat or surprise at the end for the kids like we’ve had with other tours. She had a very dry personality and didn’t speak at all in between portions of the tour when we needed to walk. It was awkward silence. I was also disappointed when we left the Coliseum because I told her I wanted to visit the gift shop, and she replied that I should have told her before…I didn’t even realize we were leaving and that there was no re-entry, otherwise I would have mentioned it before. I booked this tour because of the great reviews on the other tour leaders, and I was willing to pay the higher prices because I thought I was giving my kids a wonderful experience, but sad to say it was lackluster at best. A big waste of time and money.
Great access to learn about the Vatican. Our guide was awesome and moved us through the museum at a perfect pace.
