Historian in Amsterdam
About Marijn

Marijn studied History and Heritage & Memory Studies at the University of Amsterdam and worked at the National Holocaust Museum, part of the Jewish Cultural Quarter.

He now works as a project officer at “Sprekende geschiedenis”, the Dutch national hub for oral history, where he focuses on audiovisual heritage, archiving and making personal stories accessible. Alongside this, he works as a freelance archival researcher for documentary film projects.

Marijn is especially interested in how history is presented and remembered. His tours focus not only on what happened in the past, but also on whose stories are told and how history remains visible in Amsterdam today.
