Tour Description
From the end of March to the beginning of May each year, the Dutch countryside comes alive with every color imaginable. Strips of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils span as far as the eye can see creating a techicolor landscape worthy of a visit.

On this Keukenhof Tour from Amsterdam, you will have the privilege of visiting the most renowned of Dutch tulip gardens. Witness the flower in many different roles: from behind-the-scenes during bulb cultivation in the tulip fields to front-and-center in the stunning displays at the gardens.

As you wander through the garden paths, you will discuss the architectural choices and themes of this year’s landscaping and the contemporary cultural implications of this curated space, and learn about the economic and colonial history that made the Netherlands the capital of flower bulb production.

You will leave your day with all of your senses heightened and your eyes twinkling from having witnessed the full splendor and lush colors of these unmissable gardens.

When is the best time to go to see the tulips? Will they be in bloom during my visit?
The tulip season is roughly the end of March to early May. It depends on the weather each year; if spring is unseasonably warm, the blooming period can start earlier. If spring is delayed, so are the tulips. Around mid-March, we usually have a sense of how close the season is to beginning. We can recommend Weekly Flower Update as an online resource. The best time to visit is generally April. Another good indication of tulips in bloom in Holland is the opening period of the Keukenhof, which signals the arrival of the season.

Where do we meet? Where does it end?

LORA was the best! She was friendly, knowledgable, and took into account the ages of my children to give us the best half day of our trip. I would highly reccomend her and this adventure.
Alette and our driver arrived on time and met us in the lobby of our hotel as promised. They were both so welcoming and friendly! Our transportation was comfortable and clean and our driver was excellent. Alette was very engaging during our ride to the gardens and provided us with so much wonderful historical background information. Alette is a wealth of information on so many subjects related to Dutch garden, art and cultural history and many other topics. We truly enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to know more about this beautiful country.
I’m glad our guide suggested an 8:00 am pickup as it gets quite crowded later!
