Gemma is a professional guide, who has lived in Amsterdam for years and knows the city by heart. Gemma holds an M.A. in history from the University of Utrecht and is specialized in the elites of the 17th century in the Dutch Republic. She received a Fulbright scholarship to broaden her research in family history, with a special focus on the position of women in the 17th century. After a long career, including experiences in research, writing and communications, she went back to her roots: doing research and sharing her broad historical and art historical knowledge. Combining different perpectives, she gives a unique insight in the development of the Netherlands of today.
