Has been in the Netherlands since 1999. Living in the heart of Amsterdam, in the old Jewish neighborhood where Rembrandt lived, he developed a passion and knowledge for its rich history, architecture and culture. He also worked in education at the Rembrandt House Museum demonstrating Rembrandt’s painting and etching techniques. After 22 years he pivoted to start his own business in giving private tours and workshops on traditional paint making. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Washington in Seattle, however a great deal of his skills and knowledge about 17th century painting and paint making came from his work at the Rembrandt House Museum and Verfmolen de Kat, a pigment grinding windmill in Zaandam. As a painter he uses many of these techniques in his own works.
