Our day of British adventure in charming central London begins with introductions over a morning coffee at a cafe beside the historic 900-year-old Tower of London castle. Visiting the Tower, you’ll discover its vast history and many purposes it’s had across centuries, including being a royal residence, guarding the crown jewels, housing the royal mint, holding many famous prisoners, and more.

Please note: Due to venue rules, we are currently unable to guide inside some areas of the Tower of London site, including the White Tower, the Jewel House and the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula. This rule is in place until further notice. We are still able to guide in the other areas of the Tower of London site and you will be able to visit guiding-restricted areas independently.

Continuing our explorations we’ll walk along the river Thames before stopping for lunch. We'll grab a bite to eat at the bustling Borough Market or one of the traditional English pubs nearby. (Please note that the market is closed on Mondays so we'll find an alternative.) Re-energized, we’ll cross the Millennium Bridge and take in the city's sites, viewing London from above the Thames and seeing the exterior of the stunning St. Paul’s Cathedral, learning its historical importance. Jumping on the tube or in a taxi, we will head to Westminster Abbey, the gothic church where many royal coronations and weddings have held place.

We’ll then stroll through picturesque St. James’s Park onto the golden gates of Buckingham Palace where you’ll see some of the guards in their uniform. After having ventured together across the city to sites relevant to London's historic, cultural, and monarchical identity, our ‘London in a Day, with Context’ will leave us with a deeper understanding of the British capital and all things London.

Imogen was amazing - a true wealth of knowledge! The 5 of us in our group with Imogen had a great time and learned a lot about English history!
Very happy with the tour and our guide Imogen. She kept two young kids captivated, engaged and busy walking over 5 hours. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. I wish I had thought thru that an 8 hour booking would be too long with two young kids in the group for whom the trip was meant.
What a great way to start our trip. Imogen was amazing, so detailed but fun. We loved every minute!
