Tour Description
Imagine stepping into the heart of Milan, a city that reveres the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, and embarking on a journey that not only showcases his masterpieces but also immerses you in his world. The highlight of this guided tour is the elusive 'Last Supper' – tickets that are nearly impossible to secure unless you book well in advance of your travel dates.

Feel the anticipation build as you walk with a local art historian, whose passion for Leonardo's work is contagious. As they unveil the intricate details of his life and his profound relationship with Milan, you'll find yourself captivated by stories of his ingenuity. The highlight, a visit to the 'Last Supper', nestled in the serene Santa Maria delle Grazie, is not just a viewing; it's an encounter with history, where every brushstroke tells a tale of its own.

As you stand before this iconic painting, allow the insights you’ve been provided by our expert to enrich your understanding, transforming your viewing into a moment of deep appreciation. Even if, due to venue restrictions, our expert needs to step back to allow other travelers to get a closer view, your connection with Leonardo's work will be profound.

Your experience continues at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, where Leonardo's sketches and the 'Portrait of a Musician' await. Here, you'll enjoy not just the art but the stories that bring each piece to life.  If your Last Supper tour takes place on Wednesday, when Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is closed, we’ll explore the Sforza Castle Museum, where your journey through Leonardo's legacy remains uninterrupted, as this venue is deeply connected to his remarkable life story.

You'll explore not only Leonardo's art but his impact on Milan's very fabric—from the Duomo, a testament to architectural brilliance, to the Navigli canals, where his engineering prowess still echoes. By the time your private tour of the Last Supper concludes, you'll leave with more than just memories; you'll carry a profound understanding and appreciation for Leonardo's timeless bond with Milan, feeling inspired and connected to the very essence of this great artist's life and work.

I’ve read that tickets to see Last Supper in person can be nearly impossible to secure. How does your team handle this?
Securing tickets to The Last Supper, undoubtedly one of Milan's most sought-after attractions, can be quite challenging due to high demand and limited availability. Please place your tour booking as far in advance of your travels as possible.

However, our dedicated team is well-equipped to handle this situation. Here's what to expect:
  • Your tour will not be confirmed until venue tickets have been secured.
  • Our team continuously monitors ticket availability for The Last Supper.
  • As soon as tickets are released by the venue, we make every effort to secure them promptly for your preferred dates.
    • Please note that this process can take several weeks.
    • If you have alternative availability during your stay in Milan, please let us know in the “Additional Details” box, when booking.
  • If we are unable to secure tickets to the Last Supper for your preferred dates, we will promptly inform you.
  • Confirmation or non-confirmation may occur as close as 7 days before your proposed tour date, as this is when tickets are fully sold out.
Our Alternative Itinerary: In case of unavailability, we offer an alternative tour that explores Leonardo's presence in Milan, visiting Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and Sforza Castle. The only difference is that this alternative does not include seeing the Last Supper.

Where Will I Meet My Context Tour Guide?
The meeting point is determined by the timed ticket we secure for The Last Supper, as it depends on availability. Here's how it works:

  • If The Last Supper tickets are scheduled at the beginning of the tour, we will rendezvous near Santa Maria delle Grazie
  • If the tickets are for a later time, the tour will commence with a visit to the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana or Sforza Castle first, followed by your visit to The Last Supper.

Are there specific dress code requirements for venues this tour enters?
Yes, there are strict dress code requirements for both Santa Maria delle Grazie and The Last Supper. Shorts must be below knee level, and shoulders must be covered. You can use zip-on jackets or scarves to meet the dress code.

What if it’s raining?
Our tours operate rain or shine, but in the case of inclement weather, your expert will modify the tour so more time is spent indoors. It never hurts to have an umbrella on hand.

Giacomo was knowledge, interesting and easy to understand. He brought to life everything we saw. We particularly enjoyed the eclectic and fascinating parts such as on the walk from the library to the Basilica. Thanks Giacomo - you were brilliant.
Our guide , Nunr, was wonderful — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and very kind. She brought Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper Museum to life with great stories and context, and we truly learned so much from her. The tour ended up being a bit longer than we expected, which was challenging with our young girls, so we didn’t make it over to the art museum afterward. That said, we were very happy with the experience overall and especially grateful for how patient and thoughtful our guide was. We would absolutely recommend her.
