Route Details

Meeting in Versailles, your expert will lead you straight to what many consider the highlight—the gardens. Designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, these landscapes revolutionized garden design as we know it today.

This tour begins in Versailles. You will meet your expert just outside the palace entrance.

If you are traveling from central Paris, we recommend either a Taxi/Uber (approx 1 hour drive) or the RER C train to the Château Rive Gauche train station in Versailles. It is about a 10 minute walk from the station to our meeting point. Download the Paris transport RATP app for detailed transport instructions.

For this tour, your tickets are pre-purchased which allows you to directly enter the security line at the palace without waiting to purchase tickets. You may still have to wait in a security line or in a line to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned.

We enjoyed the tour! I’m grateful that she was patient and responsive to my daughter, who was a bit tired from jet lag. We spent the first part of the tour out in the Gardens, and the second part inside the building. It was nice to have a combination of sights. We would recommend Eugenie for other travelers who are looking to learn some of the highlights of Versailles.

Laurent did an outstanding job guiding us through the gardens and palace of Versailles. My wife and I were again amazed at his knowledge of history, art history, architecture and nearly everything about 17th and 18th century France and his ability to present this knowledge in an interesting and understandable way! He had previously guided us through the Musee d'Orsay, and we were quite impressed then also. His tours are like a comprehensive but compressed college seminar. He is a very gifted guide, and we are thankful for his efforts.
