Edinburgh Private and Small Group Walking Tours

As the Capital of Scotland and one of U.K.'s loveliest cities, Edinburgh enchants with sweeping vistas, a magically medieval Old Town, a stately Georgian New Town, and—of course—Scotch whisky.
More manageable than London but no less historical, Edinburgh offers travelers a tale of two cities. While the dark, winding closes (alleys) of Old Town and the Royal Mile whisper histories of royal murders and espionage intrigues, the lovely New Town displays beautifully symmetrical townhomes befitting the city’s central role in the Age of Enlightenment. Wash it all down with a taster or two of Scotch and a game pie and see why it’s fast becoming the U.K.’s most popular destination. Explore all its allure with Context's Edinburgh private tours.

Edinburgh Private Tours and Edinburgh Small Group Tours

We offer several options for our Edinburgh private tours and Edinburgh small group tours. Budding wizards and witches will want to polish up their Nimbus 2000s for our Harry Potter tour of Edinburgh, which traces the works of many great writers in Edinburgh—including that of J.K. Rowling—to provide a broad overview of the city's literary importance (with a dash of magic). Visiting families may also want to join our tour of Old Town Edinburgh with Kids, specially designed as a time travel tour with activities designed to make history come alive. All of our Edinburgh private guides for families are trained in Visual Thinking Strategies, which enables them to craft immersive, interactive experiences that hold kids' (and their lucky parents') attentions. Care to take a day trip? We also offer day trips and excursions for those looking to see more of Scotland. Our Glasgow Mackintosh Tour explores the life, times, and enduring influence of the legendary artist, architect, and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, visiting some of his most notable buildings and interiors. Alternatively, those looking for a dram may want to consider our Whisky Tour, which ventures out to the Glenkinchie Distillery with an accredited whisky taster.

We very much enjoyed our tour with Kate.
Our guide was very nice. However, she did not offer anything more than an ordinary tour guide. In the past, you have provided people with special knowledge who could provide something more than that. She was unaware of some basic facts about the castle. We were disappointed.
Terry was wonderful!
