I was born and raised in Mexico City. I studied Political Science (B.A.) at ITAM and Japanese Studies (M.A.) at El Colegio de México. Nine years ago, I came to Japan to live in a small temple at a village nearby Kyoto City. Four years later, I moved to Kyoto City to further study Japanese Language. Currently, I am a PhD student at Kyoto University. My research focuses on the history of meditation manuals and meditation groups of the Rinzai Zen School in Postwar Japan. I am looking forward to visit the temples and shrines on the streets and hills of Kyoto City with you.
