Carlos was fantastic - super engaging and knowledgable. We have three kids ages 13-16 and he found ways to make it interesting for every9one. Further, he had lots of great recommendations for food and other activities within Madrid and elsewhere we are traveling. I highly recommend him!

Royal Palace of Madrid Tour
Discover how ceremony and politics shaped Spain’s royal residence
The Royal Palace of Madrid is one of only a handful of official Heads of State residences open to the general public. Your tour begins in front of the palace façade, where you will admire the majestic building designed by various architects, including Giovanni Battista Sacchetti and Francesco Sabatini. A testament to Spain’s rich heritage, you will notice elements of Baroque and Neoclassical architectural styles that punctuate the palace exterior and beg you to explore further.
Please note: you may encounter long queues at ticket booths before accessing the Palace, given a change in the organization of the entry procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions
- For more information about Context tours, please visit our FAQs.
- If children under 18 qualify for free tickets, why am I required to purchase a ticket for my child? While children may enter for free, they are required to stand in the general entrance line if they do so. To save time and expedite the tour, we purchase skip-the-line tickets so they may enter as quickly as possible.
- Can we visit the royal kitchens?
No, unfortunately, we cannot offer a visit to the royal kitchens on this tour at the moment.
- What are skip-the-line tickets? For this tour, your Royal Palace tickets are pre-purchased, which allows you to skip the ticket office line upon arrival at the venue. You may still have to wait in a security line or in a line to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned.

Don’t just take our word for it
Marta was a great tour guide at the Royal Palace. Her knowledge of historical and current day usage was superb. She was pleasant and fun to walk with throughout the many rooms of the palace. Afterwards we opted to see the armory which was filled with interesting displays. We enjoyed our time with Marta and would opt to take a future tour with her for sure!
Andrea was very pleasant and well informed. We really enjoyed the entirety of our tour
