Yuka led our night food tour in Osaka and was proactive from the start - she reached out before the tour to suggest meeting earlier so we could visit Kuromon Market before it closed, which we appreciated.
She communicated clearly in English and took us to a great variety of spots including conveyor belt sushi, Japanese pancake (okonomiyaki), chicken neck, a matcha spot, ramen, and takoyaki from a street stand. The food selection was excellent and gave us a nice taste of Osaka's culinary scene.
Yuka was undeniably sweet - she asked us to share what makes a strong relationship, printed photos for us at a 7-11, and wrote a thoughtful inscription on them as a souvenir. These were lovely gestures, but unfortunately, they felt somewhat scripted rather than genuinely spontaneous. It seemed like part of a routine she does with all her tour groups rather than authentic connection.
While the tour covered great food and Yuka was pleasant and organized, the experience lacked the genuine warmth that makes a tour truly memorable. If you're looking for good food stops with an English-speaking guide, this tour delivers. Just don't expect a deeply personal connection.
