Tour Description
Few things are more ingrained in French culture than sitting down for a good glass of wine, but with so many types and regions to choose from, how are you certain to drink the best during your stay in Paris?

During this Paris wine tasting experience, a local wine expert will take you to some local haunts, introduce you to the wine regions of France and their nuances, and show you how to find some of the best nectars on offer. You will taste some typical wine of various types and appellations and be spoiled with a glass of Grand Cru, all while nibbling on some sumptuous pre-dinner snacks.

At the end of your time together, you will be fully prepared for future nights in the charming wine bars of Paris, and perhaps you will have found a new desire to visit some of France’s wine regions for yourself.

  • You are passionate about wine and want to drink the best during your time in France
  • You are excited to learn more about France’s wine regions and how to order the best glass every time
  • What You’ll Taste
    • Wine, of course! Your tastings will range from some typical everyday wines to a Grand Cru. You can expect to consume several glasses, though tastings vary by day and interest.
    • Some luxurious nibbles to accompany your tasting
    • You will be visiting local establishments that are often family-run, hours and availability may vary.
    • Dietary restrictions should be shared in advance to possibly adapt the tour. This tour can be adapted for gluten or dairy allergies. It would be doable as a vegetarian, but we do not recommend this tour for vegans as many traditional wines are not certified vegan.
  • If you are looking to learn more about Paris before your visit, check out our online lectures
  • Bathrooms are available at all wine bars

I'm sorry to be so blunt but this tour was so poorly run. Our guide not only lacked the personality skills to try to make everyone feel at ease and enjoy the tour, but her product knowledge was totally unacceptable for a supposed guide. She was reading from a pdf the entire time and could answer very few questions without referring to her "pocket manual." I will not be using Context and have told my parents, who gave us this as a Christmas gift that unfortunately their $500 was not well spent.
The tour was supposed to last 2.5 hours, but only lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes and we were only at one place. We tried one glass of champagne, one glass of white and one glass of red and that was it. After that Andres walked us to another location, said he had spent his budget and left us there. We just left and had dinner at our hotel. He was very nice and knowledgeable, but I do not think it was worth the price to visit one place and taste only 3 drinks.
Preston was amazing! Very knowledgeable. Made the experience absolutely wonderful.
