Singapore
Private and Small Group Guided Tours

( 43 )
Famed for its diverse ethnicities, food, and booming Asian Tiger economy, this island city-state is no longer a "little red dot."
Singapore, a tiny island city-state, has an outsize importance on the world economy. Once a sleepy fishing village, or so the myth goes, it toiled under British rule until its independence in 1965, and has since then catapulted into a global financial superpower. Singapore's famously multicultural makeup—with four official languages that include English, Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and Tamil —has contributed to its diverse food culture and architecture. Discover the essence of Singapore with Context's private and small group guided tours.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed his style. He was very accommodating and did a good job introducing us to the area. We gave him a only a vague idea of what we wanted and he showed us so much.
Aldric gave an outstanding tour. He has an astounding depth of knowledge about the foods we ate, the origins, the spices and cooking. He has a very outgoing and bright personality. He is very energetic. The tour could not have been any better. He is a super asset for your company.
This tour was not at all as advertised. Our guide was not a bad guide, but he: a) is not a historian, b) did not discuss our itinerary up front, and c) did not really cover the advertised period of 1819-1965 nor provide the contrextual overview of how Singapore went from sleepy village to independence. He did give us a fine tour of a new exhibit in the National Museum, which explores Singapore's history from 1600-1825 - but that is not what this tur was supposed to be about. Bottom-line is that after taking both your Singapore and Bangkok historical overview tours, I feel completely ripped off. The guides were not historians, and did not provide adequate historical overviews of the city under question.
