This was our first trip to Buenos Aires, and we decided to kick it off with a 'survey' tour of the city in one day. Our group had divergent interests (history, culture, architecture, nature, and food) in addition to wanting to get a 'lay of the land'. Gabby was exceptional in delivering all of the above and more. Sharing stories, facts, and compelling history brought this vibrant city to life. From stopping for a snack at a hidden a hidden jewel for empanadas to seamlessly navigating an unexpected disruption from a film shoot at Casa Rosada to bringing La Boca to life - she focused on helping us see and understand this amazing city. We were able to get a sens of the internal layer of some of the buildings, particularly the domestic buildings that we viewed during our tour. It in was a big help Juan lived in a traditional late 19 century building and could explain the floor plan to us in a very personal way emphasising the changing social history associated with the changing building character. In fact, our guides ability to link the historical development of the city with it aesthetic appearance and practical layout. gave us a fuller understanding of Buenos Aires and made for a richer experience that we can carry on into our personal walks around the verious districts .
