Rachel, originally from the US, has called Padova her home for over twenty years. Rachel is a certified Italian sommelier (AIS) and Master Cheese Taster (ONAF) and specializes in wine and food related tourism in Venice and throughout the Veneto. She has also coordinated private cooking courses in the Colli Euganei for the Abano Ritz Grand Hotel with an emphasis on Mediterranean and Veneto cuisine. Rachel holds a B.A. from Boston University in international relations and it was during her studies that she first developed a passion for foreign language and culture. She lives in Padova with husband Mario and two children.
Cecilia has been a qualified FISAR Sommelier in Venice since 2010. Whilst she was graduating in Economics and Art Management at Cà Foscari University in Venice, she decided that she wanted to do something different with her life, she was looking for a new adventure - something that would stimulate her curiosity. Since receiving the diploma, her passion for wine has been growing more and more intense and persistent. She took a Master in France about organic wines in 2012. Culture and food, what a perfect combination! She thinks that every journey is connected to a bouquet of flavours, and every memory is linked to a special bottle. It is an exciting journey scattered with scents and tannins, some of them are very elegant while others are greener and harder. Wine is a pleasure and she loves sharing this passion in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – and is there a more beautiful location than Venice to do this?
