Trip Description
Morning in Amsterdam arrives softly—light glancing off the canals, the low whir of bikes beginning their day. Your hotel places you in the middle of it all, chosen with care so the setting feels effortless from the start.

This extension is for travelers who like their independence supported by expertise. We coordinate the stays, the transfers, and a private introduction with a local specialist who brings clarity to the canals, façades, and stories that shape the city. With that foundation in place, you’re free to explore further—curious, confident, and already oriented to what makes Amsterdam tick.

Day 1: Arrival & Settle In
Check-in to your hotel in the heart of the city, handpicked by Context for the perfect location and hospitality. Spend the evening at leisure—perhaps with a stroll along the shimmering canals or a cozy Dutch dinner nearby.

Day 2: Exploring the City with Context
Begin your day with breakfast before joining your Sites & Insights: Amsterdam Welcome Tour (9:30 AM), led by a local historian.
  • Wander through the labyrinth of Old Town, from canal-side streets to gabled houses.
  • Learn how merchants, artists, and thinkers shaped this vibrant trading city.
  • Hear stories that bring landmarks to life—bridges, markets, and tucked-away courtyards become gateways to centuries of history.
Your guide doesn’t just point out sights—they weave a narrative that leaves you seeing Amsterdam in a richer, deeper way.

The afternoon is yours: explore museums, sip coffee by the water, or shop for Dutch design.

Day 3: Deepen your understanding of Amsterdam
Enjoy a relaxing morning with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a spot of shopping or perhaps a ride on one of Amsterdam's many canal boats.

Don't eat too much early in the day, though, because in the afternoon your Context expert will be taking you on an exploration of Dutch cuisine on the Amsterdam Food Tour (4:00 PM).
  • Trace Amsterdam’s origins on the Zeedijk, with a stop at historic Café In ’t Aepjen for a taste of medieval brewing traditions.
  • Sample a range of Dutch beers, paired with classic local bites like herring, fries, and kroket.
  • Experience the ritual of jenever, learning the difference between oude and jonge before that first brim-full sip.

Day 4: Onward
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning before you continue your journey by river, sea or air.

3 Nights Accommodation
  • Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam-a storied 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic centre, where French elegance meets centuries of Dutch canal-city heritage.
Context Experiences
Private Transfer
  • Arrival transfer to your hotel
  • Departure transfer for the next leg of your journey

Requests to modify individual components of the package may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability and any applicable fees.

Where do I provide my flight & cruise information?
When selecting your package dates, please ensure the first day you book is your hotel check-in date and the last day is your hotel check-out date – whether arriving before or after your cruise.

After booking, our team will reach out to request your flight and cruise details. Once we receive this information, we’ll confirm transportation arrangements and update the itinerary accordingly.

What type of tours are included?
City extension tours are private, allowing the experience to be tailored to your interests and pace.

Can multiple couples travel together on one booking?
Yes. You can include up to 8 guests (4 rooms) in a single booking. All tours included in the package will be private for your group, so you’ll explore together with your expert guide while each couple enjoys their own separate hotel room.

What happens in cases of single occupancy?
Package pricing is based on double occupancy. Odd-numbered guests requiring a private room will incur a single supplement of $500 (charged separately). In certain cases, single occupancy may require a different room category, and pricing will be adjusted accordingly.
