Itinerary Details
After a tasty lunch, we may take a stroll down Fort St. Jean whilst learning of its historical importance and (possibly) making a stop at the Museum of Mediterranean and European cultures. We'll leave Marseille behind as we drive and stop at Aix-en-Provence, an artistic enclave revered for its 17th and 18th-century architecture and, of course, Paul Cezanne. We'll soak up the Old Town and a local Provencial market before moving on to our final destination, the charming town of Cassis. We may start off with an exploration atop the towering cliffs of Cap Canaille, taking in the spectacular view of vineyards, mountains, and the coastal line while learning of Cassis acclaimed wine trade. We'll continue our drive along a gorgeous coastal path (Crest Road) as we soak up the views of the traditional and provincial architecture that lines the coast. Our tour will end with a pleasant walk down to the town port where you have the option to take a 45-minute boat ride exploring Les Calanques and the stunning limestone rock formations 'fjords of the French Riviera'. We'll drive back to Marseille where the tour ends.

Laurent has been a sommelier since the 80’s working in Paris, United States or Bonnieux in the Luberon. He has been living in Marseille for the past 12 years where he opened an organic wine bar & tapas around the old port. He recently left the world of restaurants to embrace a new path, that of a tour guide. Today, he spends most of his time searching Provence for interesting places, wineries and craftsmen off the beaten path. He continues to organize workshops in wine tasting and creating Provencal tapas.
