Paolo Gardelli
Paolo was already mesmerized by the world of archaeology from early childhood, a passion that led him to obtain both a degree and a postgraduate degree in Greek and Roman Archaeology. His devotion to the discipline is reflected not only in his fieldwork experience in Pompeii, Stabiae, and Greece, but also in his ongoing research, which has made him an expert in construction techniques, mosaics, frescoes, and Roman social history. He has published several scientific articles and completed a PhD in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.
His work directing excavations and conservation projects in Pompeii and Stabiae inspired him to write a book on the history, art, and architecture of a Roman villa in the Bay of Naples. Paolo teaches Classical Archaeology and Ancient History for study abroad programs of American universities in Italy and has also served as a visiting professor at institutions in Europe and the United States.
Since 2014, he has been a licensed tour guide, and in his free time he loves accompanying visitors as they discover the archaeological, artistic, and historical treasures of Rome and the Bay of Naples. Based in Rome, he brings together academic rigor, enthusiasm, and engaging storytelling to share his deep commitment to archaeology, ancient history, and architecture.
